प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY)
माननीय प्रधानमंत्री ने राष्ट्र की स्वतंत्रता के 75 वर्ष पूर्ण हो जाने पर वर्ष 2022 तक सभी के लिए आवास की परिकल्पना की है। इस उद्येश्य की प्राप्ति के लिए केन्द्र सरकार ने एंक व्यापक मिशन "2022 तक सबके लिए आवास" शुरू किया है। 25 जून 2015 को प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने इस बहुप्रतीक्षित योजना को प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना के नाम से प्रारम्भ किया है।
Hon’ble Prime Minister envisioned housing for All by 2022 when the Nation completes 75 years of its Independence. In order to achieve this objective, Central Government has launched a comprehensive mission “Housing for All by 2022”. This much awaited scheme has been launched by the Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi on 25th June, 2015 as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FORESTS AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state:-

(a) whether there is any provision/scheme for arrangement of drinking water for wild animals in the National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries/Tiger Reserves in the country;
(b) if so, the status of implementation of such provision/scheme in the States and UTs;
(c) whether there are reports of deaths of wild animals due to thirst/lack of drinking water on account of drying up of water bodies in the said sanctuaries/reserves and if so, the details thereof, State-wise; and
(d) the corrective steps taken/preventive measures being contemplated in this regard?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PARTS (a), (b), (c) and (d) OF THE LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO.* 233 REGARDING “DRINKING WATER SCHEME FOR WILDLIFE” BY SHRI RAKESH SINGH, SHRI B. SRIRAMULU DUE FOR REPLY ON 10.05.2016:

(a) &(b) Management of National Parks, Wildlife Sanctuaries and Tiger Reserves lies with the respective State Governments. The Central Government provides financial assistance to the States/Union Territory Governments under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes of ''Integrated Development of Wildlife Habitats'', ''Project Tiger'' and ’Project Elephant'', for the management of protected areas. Various activities are undertaken by State Governments for creation of water harvesting/retention structures like bunds, tanks, check dams, well, ponds, water holes etc. to ensure drinking water availability for the wild animals. 

In addition to this, Ministry with financial assistance from Ad-hoc Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA), has formulated a scheme to provide assistance to the States for ‘Augmentation of Fodder and Water in Protected areas/Forest Areas’, aimed at improving habitat in protected areas by making provision for augmenting grass, fodder and water to the wild animals. The scheme has been sent to all the State Forest Departments. 

(c) Ministry has not received any reports of death of wild animals due to thirst/lack of drinking water in protected areas.
(d) Does not arise.
