प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY)
माननीय प्रधानमंत्री ने राष्ट्र की स्वतंत्रता के 75 वर्ष पूर्ण हो जाने पर वर्ष 2022 तक सभी के लिए आवास की परिकल्पना की है। इस उद्येश्य की प्राप्ति के लिए केन्द्र सरकार ने एंक व्यापक मिशन "2022 तक सबके लिए आवास" शुरू किया है। 25 जून 2015 को प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने इस बहुप्रतीक्षित योजना को प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना के नाम से प्रारम्भ किया है।
Hon’ble Prime Minister envisioned housing for All by 2022 when the Nation completes 75 years of its Independence. In order to achieve this objective, Central Government has launched a comprehensive mission “Housing for All by 2022”. This much awaited scheme has been launched by the Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi on 25th June, 2015 as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna has started as per the recent proposals and if so, the details thereof; and

(b) the status thereof, State-wise?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRYH OF HOUSING AND URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION

(a) & (b) : Yes, Sir. The Government has launched a comprehensive Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Housing for All (Urban){PMAY(U)} Mission on 25.6.2015. The mission aims to provide central assistance to States/UTs for providing housing to all eligible urban poor through the following four verticals:


(i) “In situ” Slum Redevelopment using land as a resource under which a slum rehabilitation grant of Rs. 1 lakh per house is provided by Government of India.

(ii) Promotion of Affordable Housing for weaker section through Credit Linked Subsidy under which an interest subsidy of 6.5% on home loans upto Rs. 6 lakhs for a tenure upto 15 years is provided by the Government of India for both EWS and LIG categories.

(iii) Affordable Housing in partnership with public or private sector under which Central assistance of Rs. 1.5 lakh per EWS house is provided by the Government of India in projects. 

(iv) Subsidy for beneficiary-led individual house construction or enhancement under which Rs.1.5 lakh per house is provided by Government of India for EWS category.
Under the PMAY(Urban) Mission, a total of 923 projects of 674 cities in 18 States have been accepted for construction of 6,83,724 Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Houses with Central share of Rs. 10049.77 Crs of which Rs.1604.54 Crs has been released. State-wise details are at Annexure-I.
