THE MINISTER OF HOUSING & URBAN POVERTY ALLEVIATION
(SHRI M. VENKAIAH NAIDU)

(a) & (b): A Technical Group constituted by Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation in 2012 has estimated the urban housing shortage of 18.78 million for the entire country.
State-wise details of housing shortage estimated by the Technical Group is at Annexure. The Mission Guidelines makes it incumbent upon the States/UTs to undertake demand survey for assessing actual demand of housing.
