(a) whether the micro irrigation scheme has gained acceptance amongst the farming community across the country, if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the said scheme is being implemented in the ratio of 60 : 40 i.e. 60 per- cent by the Central Government 40 per cent by the State Governments, if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government has received proposals from various State Governments including Tamil Nadu to allocate more funds for the said scheme; and
(d) if so, the action taken by the Government thereon?

Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE be pleased to state:-
(a) whether the micro irrigation scheme has gained acceptance amongst the farming community across the country, if so, the details thereof;


(b) whether the said scheme is being implemented in the ratio of 60 : 40 i.e. 60 per- cent by the Central Government 40 per cent by the State Governments, if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has received proposals from various State Governments including Tamil Nadu to allocate more funds for the said scheme; and

(d) if so, the action taken by the Government thereon?

ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE
( SHRI SUDARSHAN BHAGAT)
(a): Yes, Madam. Micro Irrigation scheme has been particularly accepted amongst the farming community in the States namely; Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Haryana. In other States, especially in North Eastern Region (NER) and Himalayan States implementation of Micro Irrigation scheme is still to take off on major scale.

(b): Yes, but for NER and Himalayan States where the funding pattern is of 90:10 between Central and State Governments respectively.

(c) & (d): Central Assistance is allocated based on overall availability of financial resources under PMKSY (Per Drop More Crop) to all States including State of Tamil Nadu. As per request of Government of Tamil Nadu allocation of fund has been enhanced from Rs.63.9 crore of 2014-15 to Rs.95.0 crore during 2016-17.
