Standing With Farmers In Times of Need:
  • Relief to farmers in distress given in case of 33% and more damage to the crop; earlier it was for 50%.
  • For food grains damaged due to excessive rainfall, full minimum support price to be paid.
  • Families of the deceased persons to be given an assistance of Rs.4 lakhs,up from Rs.2.5 lakhs.
  • 82% rise in provision under SDRF during 2015-20, as compared to 2010-15. It went up to Rs.61,220 crores from Rs.33,580.93 crore.


Boost to Milk Production & Farmer Incomes Rashtriya Gokul Mission:

  • New initiative under National Program for Bovine Breeding and Dairy Development of Rs.500 cr.
  • 20 Gokul Grams are being established and 41 Bull Mother Farms modernized.

  • Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana to Give a New Boost to Farming 10,000 clusters covering 2 lakhs hectare area under Organic Farming in 2015-18.
  • Farmers making Informed Decisions with Soil Health Cards More than 12.5 crore Soil Health Cards distributed.


Value Addition for Better Incomes & Getting the Supply Chain Right:

  • PMKSY launched to modernize supply chain infrastructure.
  • Budget allocation doubled to push Food processing industry.
  • Grams, electronically linked to e-NAM, to Make direct sale to consumers and bulk purchasers.
  • Operation Greens to address price volatilility of perishable commodities like tomato, onion and potato.
  • Develop existing 22,000 rural haats into Gramin Agricultural Markets (Grams), helping 86%small farmers.


Helping Farmers get the Right Pric Electronic National Agriculture Market e-NAM:

  • e- Trading platforms 585 regulated markets to fetch best prices for farmers.
  • More than 87.5 Lakh farmers and sellers are registered.
  • 164.53 lakh Tonnes of farm commodities worth Rs.41591K Cr transacted on e-NAM.


Farmers Get Holistic Protection Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana at Nominal Rates:

  • Biggest financial support till date in crop insurance 4.05 Cr farmers covered.
  • 379.06 lakh hectares land insured for a sum of Rs.1,31,519 Crore.


Ensuring More Crop Per Drop:

  • Rs.50,000 crores to be invested to achieve har khet ko paani.
  • To cover 28.5 Lakh hectare are under irrigation.
  • 26.87 lakh hectares under micro irrigation from 2014-18.
  • Dedicated Micro Irrigation fund of Rs.5000 Crores.
  • Facilitating farmers for installing solar water pumps in field irrigation.


Fertilizer Units to Boost Production: 

  • Rs.50,000 Cr to revive Defunct Fertilizer Units in Gorakhpur, Sindri, Talcher, Ramagundam and Barauni.
  • New urea plant to be set up at Namrup with a capacity of 8.4LMT per annum.


Greater Access and Availability of Fertilizers100%Neem Coating resulted in improvement in soil health, reduction in pest and disease attack:

  • Led to Increased Nitrogen Use Efficiency and increased crop yield.
  • Special Banking Arrangement of Rs.10,000 cr to clear fertilizer subsidy dues.

Unprecedented Support to Farmers With Hike in MSP & Record Procurement:

  • Farmers to get 1.5 times of the production cost as MSP for Kharif crops.
  • Extent of buffer stock of Pulses increased from 1.5 lakh tonnes to 20 lakh tonnes.
  • About 16.24 lakh metric tonnes of pulses procured (as on 22.3.2018).


Affordable Credit for farmers to Boost Agricultural Productivity:

  • 24.53 lakh Joint Liability Groups provided Rs.26,848.13 Cr loan by banks across the country (as on 31st March,2017).
  • Under Interest Subvention Scheme short Team Crop loans upto Rs.3lakh extended interest rate of 7% per annum up to one year.


Agricultural Production Touches a New High in 2017-18:

  • Food Grains 277.49 MT.
  • Rice 111.01 MT.
  • Coarse Cereals 45.42 MT.
  • Pulses 23.95 MT.
  • Sugarcane 352.23 MT.
  • Horticulture 305.4 MT.


Record Budgetary Allocation for Record Outcomes:

  • Farm Credit Target raised to Rs.11 lakh crore for 2018-19.
  • Corpus of Rs.10,000 cr to create infrastructure in fishery, aquaculture and animal husbandry sectors.
  • Tax incentives to promote post-harvest agricultural activities.
  • Rs.2,000 cr for Agri-market infrastructure fund set up.
  • Rs.1,290 cr allocated under National Bamboo Mission to help setting up small industries.


Record Budgetary Allocation for Farmers Welfare in New India:

  • Rs.1,21,082 Cr 2009-14.
  • Rs.2,11,694 Cr 2014-19.


Multi-faceted Focus on Doubling Farmers' Incomes:

  • Special focus on irrigation with the aim of Per Drop More Crop.
  • Provision of quality seeds and nutrients based on soil health of each field.
  • Large investments in Warehousing and Cold Chains to prevent post havest crop lossos.
  • Promotion of value addition thjrough food processing .
  • Creation of a National Farm Market, removing distortions and e-platform.
