माननीय प्रधानमंत्री ने राष्ट्र की स्वतंत्रता के 75 वर्ष पूर्ण हो जाने पर वर्ष 2022 तक सभी के लिए आवास की परिकल्पना की है। इस उद्येश्य की प्राप्ति के लिए केन्द्र सरकार ने एंक व्यापक मिशन "2022 तक सबके लिए आवास" शुरू किया है। 25 जून 2015 को प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने इस बहुप्रतीक्षित योजना को प्रधानमंत्री आवास योजना के नाम से प्रारम्भ किया है।
Hon’ble Prime Minister envisioned housing for All by 2022 when the Nation completes 75 years of its Independence. In order to achieve this objective, Central Government has launched a comprehensive mission “Housing for All by 2022”. This much awaited scheme has been launched by the Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi on 25th June, 2015 as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Implementation of Rural Development Schemes

The Ministry of Rural Development, inter alia, is implementing Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), Deen Dayal Upadhyay – Gramin Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) through State Governments/ UT Administrations to bring about overall improvement in the quality of life of the people in rural areas. Implementation of these programmes generates direct or indirect employment opportunities, make rural youths employable in the open market through skill development and enable them undertake self employment enterprises. Under MGNREGA, 235.15 crore, 235.64 crore and 234.27 crore person days of unskilled employment were generated during 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18, respectively. During 2018-19, 85.61 crore (as on 27.07.2018) person days of unskilled employment has been generated.

 Keeping in view the importance of rural development programmes, the budget for rural development schemes has been enhanced substantially from Rs 58,623.08 crore during 2013-14 to Rs 1,12,403.92 crore during 2018-19. Accordingly, allocations to States have also increased. The allocation to States/UTs is made on the basis of the Annual Action Plan prepared by them and approved by the Empowered Committee. Rural development programmes have direct and indirect bearing on poverty alleviation which further intensifies with the increased budgetary allocation. The expenditures made on the major rural development programmes during last three years and current year are given in Annexure1.

         This information was given by the Minister of State for Rural Development, Shri Ram Kripal Yadav in Lok Sabha today.
